Rammy finds joy in giving back to the community

Rammy Hlayisani Mabunda from Tshamahansi, Letsitele just outside Tzaneen loves to give back to the community.

He said that he was raised by a single mother, and knows the pain of struggling. “The reason I give back to the community is because I see how much people struggle. I was someone who knows how it feels to struggle, but I never slept without eating, because my mom is a hard worker. I try by all means to share the little I have with those who don’t have.

I am not giving back to the community to be recognised or for attention, but to help people who are unable to help themselves,” he said. “Struggles don’t last forever, I believe in unity and I believe that if we help each other we can build a better community,” he added. He said that person he looks up to is Onkabetsi Mabuza.

“I cannot only describe him as a friend, he’s my brother from another mother. He taught me a lot of things about life and the business world. And not forgetting my late manager, Harry Mashao who was a lawyer and tavern licence distributor. My motto is to never stop dreaming, that’s what keeps me going,” he said. He is currently studying towards a bachelor of law degree at the University of Mpumalanga.
