Amakhosi to host a supporters braai and committee nominations

The Kaizer Chiefs Supporters Club in Phalaborwa is calling on the Amakhosi fans to meet for braai and election of a new committee that will serve for the next two years.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 24 from 11:00 at Spanny Car Wash situated opposite Two Mountains in Namakgale. The braai will cost R100, and people are encouraged to be dressed in the team’s regalia. According to Welcome Khoza, a member of the club, the Phalaborwa club started in the 1980s, but along the way it lost support.

In 2014 the club was revived by younger supporters.
“After choosing the new leadership, we will plan for the new season. Some of the things that the club does is to organise trips to watch the team playing and also celebrate birthdays,” Khoza explained.
In 2015 the Amakhosi was not performing well, and fans suffered mockery from other teams.

However, Khoza says their club, known as Monatefontein, celebrates each game, win or lose.
“We don’t allow results to affect us. We hope that this season Amakhosi will do well since we have a new coach with a good record,” he concluded.
