Car window smashings on the rise in Phalaborwa

A surge in smashed car windows has left Namakgale residents on high alert, with incidents reported on a weekly basis and no suspects identified.

LIMPOPO – Residents are concerned about the safety of their cars following an increase in the number of smashed car windows.

It is said that it is a weekly occurrence, especially in Namakgale. No suspects have been identified.

It is believed that the culprits target cars that are parked outside with visible items inside.

A victim told the Herald that she heard her car’s alarm at about 01:55 in the morning.

“I was up late working in my bedroom until 01:45 with my bedside lamp on. Shortly after switching off the light, my car alarm was triggered. I got up and looked through the window, but I saw nothing. When I went outside with my sister to check what the problem was, I was shocked to discover that my car window had been smashed. However, nothing was taken from the car,” the victim explained.
