HALO vaccinates 2 286 dogs against rabies

Hoedspruit Animal Outreach vaccinated 2 286 dogs against rabies in the past year and aims to vaccinate 300 more by December.

LIMPOPO – Hoedspruit AnimaL Outreach (HALO) has vaccinated 2 286 dogs against rabies in the last 12 months.

HALO gave feedback on their work in the last year on their Facebook page.

“We came across tens of rabies cases in the last few years and our rabies vaccination campaign is one of the main pillars of our work,” they stated.

“In December we aim to vaccinate at least 300 more dogs, aiming to eradicate rabies in the Maruleng Local Municipality area.”

In the post they ask for support from the community to continue their work.

“One dog vaccinated against rabies costs us R20. For R100 you can help eradicate rabies in five dogs and their families. Can you help us reach our goal of 300 vaccinated dogs by New Year?” they stated.

To help HALO with their campaign, call 065 508 6534 or email hoedspruit.halo@gmail.com.
