Tzaneen prison official earns PhD in Criminal Justice

Peter Matsaung has made history by becoming the first official in the Polokwane Management Area to earn a PhD in Criminal Justice.

TZANEEN – A Tzaneen Correctional Centre official has brought pride to his employer by graduating with a PhD in Criminal Justice from Unisa.

Peter Matsaung from Ga-Maboi has become the first official in the Polokwane Management Area to achieve this milestone.

Area commissioner Lydia Mamabolo congratulated Matsaung and encouraged others to follow in his footsteps by registering with educational institutions.

“Dr Matsaung has put us on the map, and when people see us in uniform, they will know that we are the educated department. We want everyone to register; an educated person can solve problems with ease,” she said.
