Phalaborwa market day supports local charity
Phalaborwa market day boosts local businesses and raises funds to buy school jerseys for children through the RHS Hope and Restoration Centre.
LIMPOPO – A vibrant market day was held in Phalaborwa on Saturday, April 5, bringing together community members, local entrepreneurs, and supporters of a good cause.
The event, organised by Jack’s Paint manager, Yolanda Tietz, and Phalaborwa Hardware was not only an opportunity to showcase small businesses but also a fundraising effort for a worthy initiative.
“Some of our market days include a ‘wash and go’ car wash, where the profits go toward a non-profit organisation. This time, the money will go towards RHS Hope and Restoration Centre, helping them to buy school jerseys for children in need,” said Tietz.
The day forms part of an ongoing effort by Jack’s Paint to support local businesses while giving back to the community. These events, which take place on the first Saturday of each month, provide a platform for small business owners to display and sell their items to the general public, gaining valuable exposure.
“The goal is to give local entrepreneurs the chance to get their business and products exposed to the public. We also host these events when entrepreneurs request them, or when we need to raise money for causes that matter,” Tietz explained.
She further stated that this month’s focus on helping children stay warm at school has drawn strong support, but more assistance is needed to meet the fundraising target.
“If some of the community members or businesses can put their hands together and help Salma raise the money for the jerseys, it would make a huge difference. She cannot do it alone. She needs our help,” Tietz urged.
