LIMPOPO – A manhunt has been initiated for a male suspect who reportedly raped a 14-year-old female victim in the Maake policing area.

Police reports indicate that the victim was walking home from a friend’s house along the street when an unknown male approached, grabbed, and strangled her on Tuesday, April 29.

The young victim lost consciousness and later awoke to find herself undressed in the bushes, observing an unknown male pulling up his trousers before fleeing the scene on foot.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba states that the victim realised she had been raped and returned home to inform her family, who subsequently reported the incident to local authorities.

A rape case has been filed, and police are appealing for anyone with information that could aid in the suspect’s apprehension to reach out to Investigating Officer Sergeant Ronney Mathe at 076 300 0207, call the crime stop number 08600 10111, contact the nearest police station, or use MySAPSApp.
