TZANEEN – The 2025 National Women’s Day celebrations at Nkowankowa Stadium with President Cyril Ramaphosa proved to be a momentous occasion for Merensky Agricultural Academy.
Merensky was specially invited by the Mopani West District to send eight learners to present the preamble of the South African Constitution in four languages, English, Afrikaans, Sepedi and Xitsonga. The chosen learners were Zané Vosloo, Lerato Ramakgasha, Shekinah Ramabulana, Zainab Wajah, Zoha Hanif, Sekedi Raolane, Fanisha Chabalala, and Tsakani Malungane.
Accompanied by Karabo Letsoalo, Sanet van Rooyen and Joost Smith, the learners delivered their parts with poise, clarity and confidence. Their efforts did not go unnoticed as Merensky received a special mention in the President’s address, an honour that underscored the significance of their contribution.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly meeting the President in person after the formal proceedings.
The learners were able to shake hands, exchange words, and even take selfies with the head of state, memories they will cherish for a lifetime.
