Tzaneen’s Noah’s Ark Light Festival set to shine again

Join the Noah’s Ark Light Festival to enjoy glowing gardens, food stalls, and support 70 orphans and children in need.

LIMPOPO – The much-loved Noah’s Ark Light Festival is set to return from October 21–25 at Noah’s Ark Children’s Home, Lushof 33, Tzaneen, bringing together families, friends, and the wider community for five magical evenings of lights, food, and festive cheer.

Hosted annually by Noah’s Ark Children’s Home, a child and youth care centre that provides a haven for 70 orphans and vulnerable children, the festival transforms the property into a glowing wonderland.

Sylvie Delsouiller, project manager at Noah’s Ark, said that last year, more than 1 500 visitors attended the event, enjoying the illuminated gardens, vibrant atmosphere, and tasty refreshments from local food stalls.

“This festival is more than just a family outing; it’s a way for the community to come together to support children in need,” said Delsouiller. “All proceeds from entry fees and food sales go directly towards the children’s home.”

Entrance is R20 per adult (over 12 years), R5 per child, and free for children under 5. Gates open each evening from 17:30 to 20:30.

Delsouiller said that the event’s success depends heavily on community support, and Noah’s Ark is calling on individuals, businesses, schools, churches, and groups of friends to get involved. Sponsorship opportunities include lighting up a tree for R700 or a metal structure for R1 000, with sponsors recognised through signage displayed at their sponsored feature.

“Every light that shines during the festival represents hope for a child,” added Delsouiller. “Together, we can make this year’s festival even brighter.”
