Frans du Toit High School rugby teams delivered strong performances against Eric Louw High School in Musina on April 25.

PHALABORWA – The Frans du Toit High School rugby teams delivered a strong overall performance during their fixture against Eric Louw High School on Saturday, April 25.

Travelling to Musina, the Fransies arrived determined to make an impact.

The u/14A team dominates with commanding victory

The u/14A side set the tone with a dominant 60–7 victory, comfortably defeating the hosts on their home ground.

Close contest for u/15A side

The u/15A team narrowly missed out on a win, going down 14–12 in a closely contested match.

u/16A secures solid win

The u/16A team then impressed with a solid 27–14 win, outplaying Eric Louw in a physical encounter.

Second team edged in tight battle

The second team fixture proved challenging, with Eric Louw edging the Fransies 7–5 in a tight contest.

Positive signs despite mixed results

Despite mixed results across the age groups, the Frans du Toit teams showcased commitment, discipline, and steady development throughout the day.

Coach praises key performances

Commenting on the performances, coach Sean Knoetze praised the efforts of his players.

“I would especially like to commend our u/14 and u/16 teams for their excellent performances, which provided a strong and positive conclusion to the friendly phase of the season,” he said.

“While the overall results were not in our favour across all teams, this is part of the development process.

“These matches have highlighted important areas that need attention and serve as a valuable reminder that no opposition can be underestimated.”

Focus shifts to upcoming league fixtures

Knoetze added that the next two weeks will be crucial from a sporting perspective.

“Focus, discipline, and consistent preparation will be key as we prepare for our opening league fixture away against Hoërskool Piet Potgieter in Mokopane.

“This will be followed by our first home match on May 16 against Louis Trichardt.

“We remain committed to improving at all levels and ensuring our teams are fully prepared for the challenges ahead,” he concluded.
