Visitors warned as Kruger National Park updates road closures

Visitors to Kruger National Park are urged to check road updates as rain impacts travel routes across the park.

HOEDSPRUIT – If you are looking to go to the Kruger National Park, take note of which routes to use or to avoid.

Recent rains have impacted several routes, and while the bush is looking magnificent, safety remains priority.

If you are heading into the Park from Hoedspruit or the wider Maruleng region, please take note of this extensive update on road statuses.

Skukuza and Pretoriuskop routes affected

If you are going to Skukuza please note that; S1 is partially open, closed at S65 intersection from Skukuza. Use S3 as an alternative route. Maroela Loop is closed and H4-1 is partially open (closed at H11; use H12 bypass).

Pretoriuskop: S11, S66, and S19 are all closed.

Berg en Dal: The S116 and H2-2 are both closed. S110 (gravel) is partially open, access only to Matjulu waterhole via S110 tar road.

Biyamiti: The S139 is partially open from S25 (no access to S114).

Crocodile Bridge: The S102 is partially open from H5 to Mpondo Dam, with no access from S26

Satara: S90, S41, S125, S126, and S127 are all closed. The S100 is a cul-de-sac (open for 12.9km from H1-4).

Orpen, Talamati and Lower Sabie closures

Orpen: the S106 and S36 are also closed. The S39 is partially open to Roodewaal Bush Lodge only.

Talamati: S140 open for overnight guests only; S145 is closed.

Lower Sabie: S79, S107, S29, S30, S128, S122 are all closed. At Tshokwane the folowing are closed S33, S34, S85, S84, S83, S35, S76, S36, S37. At Olifants the following are closed S44, S91, S92, S93, S89, S149 and the S94, S46, S69, S47, S48 at Ketaba are closed.

Mopani, Phalaborwa and northern region updates

Phalaborwa: The H14 and S131 are partially open (no access to Shimuwini or Mopani).

Mopani: S49, S136, S146 are closed. While S50 is partially open to Grootvlei Dam.

Shimuwini: S141 is closed.

Shingwedzi/Sirheni: S50 and S56/S57 are partially open, visitors are advised to check local signage.

Punda Maria: S99 is closed.

Pafuri: S63 is partially open to the picnic spot and Crooks Corner. S64 access to Thulamila only.

Visitors urged to prioritise safety

Visitors are urged to obey all closure signs and avoid crossing any flooded low-water bridges.
