Drakies rally behind young Zarah

Drakensig Primary learners and staff are raising funds for baby Zarah Fourie, who is fighting for her life in ICU after developing severe pneumonia.

HOEDSPRUIT – Drakensig Primary has rallied behind one-year-old baby Zarah Fourie, who is fighting for her life after being diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), which developed into severe pneumonia.

After spending five days at a local hospital, Zarah was airlifted to a specialist hospital in Gauteng, where she was placed on a ventilator, sedated and admitted to the ICU.

School community opens its hearts

The Drakies community has opened its hearts in support of Zarah and her family, with learners and staff selling spekboom plants and hosting a cake sale to raise funds.

The school expressed its support for the little fighter, thanking Zarah for showing them what it means to be strong and sending her and her family love and encouragement during this difficult time.
