HOEDSPRUIT – Maruleng Local Municipality (MLM) Mayor Tsheko Musolwa has visited two households whose homes were destroyed by fires, offering support and social relief materials as the affected families begin the process of rebuilding their lives.
Shikwambana, Morupane families receive relief materials
Musolwa visited the Shikwambana household in Bismarck village following a fire that destroyed their home and left the family in need of urgent assistance.
During the visit, the mayor donated materials to help the family cope with the challenges brought about by the disaster.
The mayor also visited the Morupane family in Turkey 3, where another devastating fire destroyed their home and belongings.
“We understand families need support,” says spokesperson
According to MLM spokesperson Justice Shipalana, the municipality understands the emotional and financial strain experienced by families who lose their homes in fires.
“Losing a home to fire is a devastating experience, and we understand that families need support during such difficult times. The municipality is committed to assisting affected residents where possible and ensuring that they receive the necessary social relief,” said Shipalana.
“The mayor’s visits are not only about handing over relief materials. They are also about showing compassion and standing with our residents when they are going through some of the most challenging moments of their lives,” he said.
The municipality encouraged communities to continue supporting affected families as they recover from the impact of the fires.
