Coach Peace starts CAF course after help

Coach Peace Khosa begins CAF B License coaching course, marking a major milestone in local football development.

TZANEEN – Peace Khosa, founder of the Nkowankowa Barcelona Development Team, has officially begun his Confederation of African Football (CAF) B License coaching course, thanks to the generosity of the Tzaneen community, which raised R20 000 to help him register in April.

This opportunity marks a significant step forward in Khosa’s coaching career and holds great promise for football development in the region. Known for his commitment to nurturing young talent, Khosa has played a pivotal role in shaping the futures of many aspiring soccer players across Limpopo.

Khosa recently completed the first phase of the intensive course in Pretoria, describing the experience as transformative.

“The sessions were truly eye-opening,” he said. “I thought I knew football until I attended this course. We learned how to conduct proper talent identification and the importance of understanding players’ cultural backgrounds. Coaching becomes much more effective when you understand where your players come from and what they believe in.”

He also emphasised a new perspective on youth development. “We were taught that development doesn’t begin at u/13 level, it starts as early as age five. That shifted my entire approach to coaching.”

During the course, Khosa had the opportunity to connect with several high-profile figures in South African football, including Esrom Nyandoro, Golden Arrows coach Kagiso Dikgacoi, Paulos Maseko from Sekhukhune United, and David Notwane from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The CAF B License course spans 21 days and is delivered in three phases of seven days each. Khosa is set to return to Pretoria for the second phase in July, with the final session scheduled for August.

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the community for making his journey possible. “If it weren’t for your kindness and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am forever grateful,” he said.
