Coach Peace earns his CAF-B licence

Coach Peace Khosa secures his CAF-B licence, boosting opportunities for Nkowankowa talent to reach NFD and PSL levels.

TZANEEN – Local football coach Peace Khosa has achieved a major milestone in his coaching career after completing the Confederation of African Football (CAF)-B license course, a qualification that also represents a significant step forward for football development in the Tzaneen area.

Khosa, who is the founder of the Nkowankowa Barcelona development team and head coach of the Nkowankowa Continental football team, recently completed the course in Pretoria. His journey was made possible through the generous support of the Tzaneen community, which helped raise R20 000 toward his course fees.

“I will forever be grateful to everyone who helped me,” he said. “But this is not just a personal victory. Earning this certificate means our local players will now have greater opportunities to connect with teams from the National First Division (NFD) and the Premier Soccer League (PSL).”

Course reshapes approach to youth development

With the CAF-B license, Khosa is now qualified to serve as a head coach for an NFD team and as an assistant coach for a PSL team.

Khoza described the experience as transformative, saying the intensive course opened his eyes to new dimensions of coaching.

“I thought I knew football until I attended this course,” he admitted. “We learned about effective talent identification and the importance of understanding players’ cultural backgrounds. Coaching becomes far more effective when you know where your players come from and what they believe in.”

The programme also reshaped his perspective on youth development.

“We were taught that development doesn’t begin at u/13 level, it starts as early as age five,” he explained. “That completely changed how I approach coaching young players.”

Networking opens doors for local talent

During the course, he had the opportunity to network with several well-known figures in South African football, including Esrom Nyandoro, Golden Arrows coach Kagiso Dikgacoi, Paulos Maseko from Sekhukhune United, and David Notwane from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Khosa’s success not only highlights his dedication to personal growth but also brings hope for stronger football development structures in Nkowankowa and surrounding communities.
