Hundreds of senior citizens from areas within the GTM participated in different kinds of games ranging from; soccer, athletics, juskei, brisk walk, goal shooting and passing the ball among others.

The different sporting activities were divided into age categories from 60 to 69 and 70 to above and gender.

Local footballer, Florah Baloyi, won position one in the 800m female race in the 60 to 69 age category, followed by Jeaneth Pudikabekwa.

Meanwhile in the 800m male race Peter Mushwana and Thomas Rikhotso won first and second position respectively.

The Mopani 200m male champion, Freddy Rikhotso, did not disappoint as he defended his title with more flair.

Due to time, not all sporting codes took place, but will be finalised in the near future.

All the winners will represent GTM in Phalaborwa at the Mopani Golden Games later in August.
