Exhilarating three-day race: Mountain bikers enjoy Magoeba Trek
The Magoeba Trek, presented by Insect Science, was a tremendous success with 365 mountain bikers competing in this exhilarating three-day race through the pristine trails in and around Haenertsburg.
From the Insect Science team, Arno du Toit and Keagan Bontekoning took first place, and local Insect Science riders, Herman Fourie and Alan Gordon secured third place in the race with Matthew Keyser and Gert Heyns in second place. Junior riders, Gordon Noel and Henro van der Walt, also from team Insect Science, took first place in the trail distance.
Corruseal’s Jacques du Preez and Nicky Willemse took second place overall in the trail distance.
“The local cycling community came out in full force to participate in the event, infusing it with the unique spirit of Limpopo. On Sunday, even cyclists who couldn’t join for the entire event were able to ride in what was dubbed the Magoeba Magic,” explains Jen Noné, one of the organisers.
