Fundraising hike a great success
Vutivi I Ndzhaka (VIN) hosted another successful hike on December 30 on the Mawaveni Mountain in Mafarana to raise funds for their charitable work.

VIN is a non-profit organisation that hosts an event every December to raise funds to improve village education. The hike began at 07:00 comprising of two groups hiking 5km and 11km. After the hike lunch was served and members engaged in games such as cuva, 30-seconds, while children enjoyed playing on a jumping castle.
After the hike, a soccer tournament ensued with four teams, Mulati Masters vs All Nations, and Bonn United vs Mafarana Legends, playing against each other. The finals on the following day saw Mulati Masters winning 4-3 with penalties against Mulati Masters. VIN was established in 2012 by academics from Mulati, Mafarana, Ntsako, Bonn, and Sedan villages.

Every year the organisation also hosts an award ceremony for Gr 12 learners who performed well in the final exams.
The learners are rewarded with cash prizes and electronic devices to motivate learners in lower grades to excel academically. VIN reached its fundraising target of R30 000 through the event.
