Pam Golding Wildlife Estate Series comes to a close at Blyde

Lourens Beeslaar, Libby Page, Wilreco Beeslaar and Jordan Prinsloo claimed the overall titles in a Lowveld trail running series that ended at Blyde Wildlife Estate.

HOEDSPRUIT – The 2026 Pam Golding Wildlife Estate Series came to an exciting close at Blyde Wildlife Estate on September 19, where runners tackled the final 20km and 10km races of a season that combined competitive trail running with the beauty of the Lowveld bushveld.

The final event gave runners one last opportunity to test themselves on the trails before the overall series standings were confirmed.

Seconds apart at the front

In the 20km race, Christopher Atherstone produced the fastest performance of the day, crossing the finish line in 01:34:12. He was closely followed by series champion Lourens Beeslaar, who finished just three seconds behind in 01:34:15. Jason Kipling completed the podium in 01:45:32.

Jessica Osmers was the first woman home in the 20km race, finishing fifth overall in 02:05:01. Sharne Pretorius followed just two seconds later in 02:05:03, while Lecia Steele was third among the women in 02:11:56.

Pace on the shorter course

The 10km event was won by Melody Mdluli in 44:36, with Wilreco Beeslaar taking second in 48:16 and Michael Broodryk third in 49:11.

Jordan Prinsloo continued her impressive season by winning the women’s 10km race in 58:22 and finishing fourth overall. Theri Mathewson was the second woman across the line in 01:05:04, followed by Shannon Young in 01:05:47.

Who took the crowns

With the Blyde Wildlife Estate event completed, attention turned to the final series rankings.

In the long course men’s competition, consistency throughout the season earned Lourens Beeslaar the overall title. Jason Kipling secured second place, while Grant Lapping completed the overall top three.

Libby Page claimed the long course women’s crown after a dominant campaign in which she recorded four podium finishes, including three victories. Jessica Osmers finished second overall, with Corlia Steyn taking third.

Medium course honours

The medium course men’s title went to Wilreco Beeslaar, who recorded four podium finishes during the series. Michael Broodryk, who also achieved four podium finishes, took second place, while Maurits Steyn completed the top three.

Jordan Prinsloo capped an outstanding season by winning the medium course women’s title. Prinsloo recorded five podium finishes, including four victories, establishing herself as one of the standout performers of the series. Kristi Spencer finished second overall, and Natasha Trollip took third.

Pam Golding Properties Hoedspruit’s Mandie Gericke said the series represented much more than competition.

The series has been about so much more than running.

“It has been about community, connection, adventure and celebrating the incredible Lowveld lifestyle we get to call home,” Gericke said.
