TZANEEN: Dududu honours top learners

Dududu Primary School honoured its top achievers during their Excellence Awards held at Rhema Church in Nkowankowa recently.

These awards were the first ones in the history of the School where parents and other stakeholders were invited to be part of the occasion.

Parents and stakeholders came in high numbers to celebrate the learners great performance.

The awards were sorted into four categories, foundation phase (Grade 1-3), intermediate phase (Grade 4-7), winners of different competitions in the school and overall top achievers.

Only the top three learners who also acquired 80% marks and above were awarded.

The leaners also entertained the guests with different kinds of activities ranging from the Xibelani dance, poems and spiritual dance.

The main guest speaker Peter Marholeni, spoke about the power of partnership and stakeholders which produce excellent rewards.

Meanwhile Nkowankowa Circuit Manager, Doreen Manzini, encouraged the parents to speak positive words towards their children.

Manzini also urged the school to continue holding these kinds of awards, because it will cause other learners to work hard as well.

The winners received certificates and the overall top achievers also obtained gifts and cash prizes.

“The award ceremony was a great success and I’m glad that we awarded great quality,” explained Priscilla Ndlovu, Principal of Dududu Primary School.

Emelda Tintswalo Shipalana
