Something different to do over Christmas in Tzaneen
Tzaneen may be a small town but there is always something to do, so here are some of the things you can do to make it festive and jolly.
Attend a church service- attending church on Christmas Day, is a good way of celebrating and embracing the Christmas spirit.
You will have a chance to sing Christmas carols with fellow congregants and dance .
This can also serve as a wonderful opportunity to mingle and reunite with your former schoolmates and church mates, who you hardly have a chance to meet during the year if your based in other parts of the country and you only get a chance to come back during the holidays.

Have lunch at a ‘Chisanyama.’- Chisanyamas are popular in townships such as Lenyenye and Nkowankowa. Most Chisanyamas serves as the hottest hangout places in the ‘hood’, for braaied meat and a chilled environment, this is the best place to be.
Some of the popular spots is Miami in Nkowankowa, Mzanzi in both Lenyenye and Nkowankowa and Joe in Bindzulani.
Visit friends or family- This is the perfect time to visit your family especially your grandparents if you are hardly in Tzaneen through-out the year. Visiting your cousins and grandparents.
In Julesburg, Muhlava or anywhere, they are is the best way of spending the day, but don’t forget to bring them gifts.
Share lunch with the less- fortunate.
As much as this time is a jolly season but for others it can be a nightmare especially for those who do not have food to eat.
Tzaneen’ streets are filled with homeless people who are homeless and hungry.
You can cook a nutritious meal for them and if you don’t feel safe bring a friend with or get a police officer to accompany you, Major General Mathebaula with her team will be out on the streets working.
