#2018Women’s Day: Amukies on the rise
House artist, Amukelani Ngobeni's music soothes the souls of local fans as she continues to grow in her craft.

Ngobeni known to her fans as ‘Amukies’ from Dan Village has been doing music at the age of 15.
She comes from a family with a musical background, as both of her parents are musicians.
“In the 90’s my mother (Reagan Ngobeni) was a popular musician and my father a drumist, they both inspired me to do music.

“My biggest inspiration is Lady Zamar, I adore her and her music, she’s a great artist and her story is similar to mine I look up to her,”explained Ngobeni.

Even though she studied Nursing and counselling, music seems to take first priority.
She is currently not signed to any recording company, but has already released five singles including songs such as freedom and Lahlanenge.
Amukies is working on an album which will be released in November and promises to be a hit.
She has worked with Monada on a song called wrong and right.
Ngobeni has also appeared in TV Show Selimathuzi With local duo artist CK and Janisto, she has perfomed at the 2017 Letaba Show and also the DSTV I Rock Limpopo in Polokwane last year.
“My message to women is that they must love themselves and happy Women’s month to all, she concluded.
