“I have been thinking of ways to unite the community, and I believe poetry is the easiest route.

We are encouraging people to write poetry in their mother tongue, as we believe it is important to know where you come from.

“We want to encourage people to be proud of their culture and language.

“African youths today embrace foreign cultures and languages, they think it is more important than their own culture,” he said.

The R20 contribution will go towards buying a wheelchair for a local woman who is disabled.
