Clarissa’s best day

“Today was hands down the best day - I’m still beaming,” posted Clarissa Liebertrau on the Hoedspruit Town Facebook page on Saturday, February 5.

“I attended the African Snakebite Institute’s snake awareness, first aid for snakebite, and venomous snake handling course,” Clarissa said that she has lived in the area for over a decade and snakes and snake removal have been a big part of that.

“I learnt so much about scorpions, spiders and snakes, and the first aid of these incredible species.”

The training was by Johan Marais who is a well-known author of the bestseller, Complete Guide to the Snakes of Southern Africa, she said. “The standard of the information taught is simply excellent and I highly recommend this course to anyone! For those who have a phobia, don’t worry, you can opt to do the course without handling.

They will be back on March 5 and 6 – and it can’t come sooner as I absolutely cannot wait to do the venomous snake handling Bootcamp!” Go to www.africansnakebiteinstitcom/courses-2/ for more information.
