Aron leads at Vaalbos

Young cyclists from Phalaborwa took on the second leg of the Limpopo XCO school series at Vaalbos outside Marble Hall recently.

Local sprog rider, Aron van den Borre, won his division despite losing some time on his fourth and final lap. He took first place by completing four laps in a total time of 40:44.2. His best lap time was on the second lap of the course with a time of 9:38.9. Van den Borre, a learner from Kingfisher Private School, is currently leading the pack in the series after two events with 400 points for taking first place in the first two races.

Musa Chauke, also from Kingfisher Private School, is currently in tenth place in the series. Thabang Magana took 14th place at the Vaalbos race and is currently in 8th place in the series. The next leg of the school series will take place at Moordrif Trails in Mokopane on April 13.

Emelda Tintswalo Shipalana

Tintswalo Shipalana, a journalist for the Letaba Herald, has been in the media industry for over a decade. She started her journey in radio, but ended up in print which is her first love. She joined the Herald newspaper as a cadet in 2016, where she graduated with a journalism qualification from the Caxton Training Academy.
