Tsala and Black Stars are Phalaborwa tourney champs

Phalaborwa Local Football Association hosted the playoffs for the u/15 and u/17 championships at the Lulekani Stadium recently.

In the u/15 category, it was a do-or-die situation for the Lulekani stream A Black Stars FC vs Namakgale stream B champions, Clever Boys FC. The two teams played to be crowned the 2023 u/15 championship that came with a soccer kit sponsored by the National Lotteries Commission (NLC). The game started at 11:00 amid an extreme Phalaborwa heatwave.

Tsala Development FC, u/17 champions.

The teams matched each other ball for ball and at the end of ninety minutes, Black Stars emerged victorious after scoring 4-1 against the Clever Boys. At 13:00 Majeje Juventus played against Tsala Development in the u/17 category. The game was physical with some hard tackles. Juventus won after scoring 2-1 against Tsala Development.

Black Stars and Juventus both won a full soccer kit sponsored by the NLC. Chairperson of the association, Gezani Mhlongo, thanked the NLC for their contribution towards community development after it received a grant in the 2022-2023 financial year for football development from the commission.
