Hoedspruit Bowls Club hosts successful Meerkat tourney

Polokwane Bowls Club emerged victorious at the two-day Meerkat tournament hosted by Hoedspruit Bowls Club.

LIMPOPO – Hoedspruit Bowls Club hosted its popular Meerkat tournament over the weekend with Polokwane Bowls Club taking the honours.

Annelie Janse van Rensburg of Hoedspruit Bowls Club thanked and congratulated all the participants who travelled to Hoedspruit to take part in the two-day event on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27.

“The Meerkat is done and dusted, what a privilege to have done it again,” she told the Herald.

“A huge shoutout to all the teams that participated and made this event possible, and to everyone involved, sponsors and workers, a big thank you,” she said.

First place went to the players from the Polokwane Bowls Club represented by Thys Manders, Johan le Roux and Tiaan de Jager. In second place were Evelyn Cloete, Gorman Cloete and Luisa de Bruyn also from Polokwane, third were Ally Morrison, Ernest Swieglaar and Marushca Swiglaar from Tzaneen Bowls Club and fourth were Wally Herfurt, Terry Morgan and Adriana Jacobs, also from Tzaneen.

She also thanked the sponsors: Miami Canners, Hoedspruit Pick n Pay, Hoedspruit Spar, Lebamba, Maryuleng Spares, Hoedspruit Buco, and Hoedspruit Build it.
