Update: Men get off scott free

The men responsible for destruction of handmade Malawian furniture, will get away with it unpunished.

The men, who trashed furniture worth R9100, were most probably seen at the Pavilion Bar the following night.

The vichicle they drove in, a maroon bakkie pulling a trailer, matches the vehicle described by Rodney Mpanga, to whom the furniture belonged.

They were noted for their rowdy behaviour, reckless and rude remarks to a female employee at the bar.

Pavillion, which is not far from where the furniture is sold next to Lilian Ngoyi  Street, is in possession of video material.

Management refused to make the material available or reveal the identities of the men involved.

One of the men, only known as Andries, is a regular at the bar.
