Update: Taxi Violence updates
The Middelburg Observer will bring you regular updates on the status of the clash between Nasaret and Extension 24 next to the N11 (Hendrina Road) where a taxi war turned violent.
The latest developments at 09:30 this morning:
• Police confirmed that 10 people were arrested this morning after their minibus, carrying police officers, were attacked and damaged by protesters.
• A Phola Coaches bus carrying workers to the Middelburg Mine was attacked in Rockdale, a witness said that one person was seriously injured.
• The Police’s Public Order unit are currently on the scene.
• Residents in Nasaret and Extension 24 were forced to stay in doors with police patrolling the streets and firing rubber bullets to disperse troublemakers.
