Woman dies in collision
A woman died instantly when a truck collided with her around 22:00 on the Vandyksdrift off-ramp on the N4 last Thursday.
According to the SAPS the deceased, who were exiting the N4 at the Vandyksdrift on-ramp, failed to stop at the intersection.
The truck was en route to Middelburg on the Vandyksdrift road.
The truck then hit the Toyota Yaris on the driver’s side.
Firemen had to use jaws of life to extract the body from the wreck.
Initial reports that a child had also died in the accident, proved incorrect.
The woman had not been identified formally by the time of print.
• According to the SAPS no other fatal accidents were reported since Thursday night.
