In spite of being the victim of a robbery more than once, business owner Alta van der Walt is determined to remain positive.

“We got off light this time compared to the previous robbery. Last time they did a lot more damage, this time it seems like something bothered them before they could get to the valuable products. I am just glad that nobody was seriously injured.”

A packer at the business, Sam Makuna, was hit in the face during the robbery. He was treated by a paramedic on the scene and sent home.

Mrs Van der Walt says that except for an undisclosed amount of cash, thieves took eleven bottles of Jameson as well as Johnnie Walker Black and Red, leaving many more valuable bottles behind, and fled on foot.

They also took Mr Makuna’s cellphone.

Efforts to try and find the suspects after the robbery were unsuccessful.

• In June 2015, the injured Aerorand Liquor Store packer’s namesake, Sam Ranchod, was not as lucky when he was shot at close range and killed during a robbery at Eastdene Liquor Store.
