‘Client’ becomes crime victim
A man who visited the brothel in Meyer Street complained that sex workers stole R650 from him.
The man, who only identified himself as Zacharia from Stoffberg, said that he visited the brothel “to relieve some stress”. He paid R50 for their services but said that he realised before leaving the brothel that R650 of his money was missing.
Zacharia undertook to open a case of theft at the Middelburg police but never provided the Middelburg Observer with a case number. He said that police officers refused to come to the brothel when he phoned them.
“I want to warn other people not to go to that place. They are not there to relieve your stress, they are there to commit crime.”
He said that his life was threatened when he attempted to retrieve his money by himself.
