Eskom employees killed in accident
Two people were killed instantly in an accident between a truck and a car at the corner of Walter Sisulu and Van Der Merwe Street late on Friday night.
The truck collided with the side of a vehicle and crushed its two occupants – one of them a resident of Middelburg and the other from Malelane.
Both occupants worked at Hendrina Power Station and it is believed they were on their way to work when the accident occurred.
The truck driver has been identified as Zimbabwean national and it was yet unconfirmed if a case of culpable homicide is being investigated by the Middelburg SAPS.
The deceased have been identified as Senzo Shongwe (27) of Malelane and Lerato Mathews Makhele of Extension 18, Middelburg
