Missing man’s remains found next to road

The remains of a man who went missing during December in Machadodorp were found next to the road just outside the town on Saturday.

Mr Mfundo Mazwi Matse’s body was found on the Machadodorp/Badplaas road, just before the off ramp to Slaaihoek.

Although animals already started feeding on his body, it seems that Mr Matse died of natural causes, as there was no blood found near his body or marks on the remains to indicate that he was murdered.

His family reported him missing during December and gave a detailed description of his clothes. They also mentioned that he had a backpack with a tablet in it.

When the police discovered the remains, they almost immediately knew that it must be him, because he still had the same clothes on and they found the backpack with the tablet still in the bag.

No foul play like robbery is suspected due to the fact that his tablet was still intact.
