Residents of Secunda were shocked to see a tornado form the sky above the town late in the afternoon on Sunday, 29 January.

The cloud formation that initially looked like smoke spiralling from behind a cooling tower at Sasol soon took on the familiar vortex shape and then turned into the weather phenomenon.
