Woman stabbed 17 times
A 25-year-old woman from Mhluzi was stabbed at least 17 times, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, at her home in Extension 6, Mhluzi on Monday.

Thobile Mabuza died on the scene.
Just moments later the ex-boyfriend, identified as Sharon Tumelo Mampuru, was arrested and charged with the murder. He appeared in court on Thursday.
According to Thobile’s mother, Thembi Dlamini, her daughter was no longer together with the man and had broken up with him a few months ago.
“He was really angry,” Thembi said.
The suspect crept up to the woman whilst she was taking down washing from lines outside the house. According to reports, he pounced on her unsuspectingly and unleashed a tirade of blows with a knife in his hand.
Thembi was too emotional to speak about her daughter and said that she hoped that justice would serve its course.
The exact circumstances which led to the stabbing remain unclear and police are in the process of obtaining statements from eyewitnesses and those who know the suspect.
The case against Sharon Tumelo Mampuru was postponed to a later date and he remains in police custody.
Funeral arrangements were yet to be confirmed at the time of going to print but are expected to take place in Ermelo over the weekend.
