The Hlalamandi community have blockaded the N11 in the early hours this morning, in protest against Columbus Steel. Residents are disgruntled by the lack of job opportunities.

Travellers were advised to avoid using Kilo Street.

www.mobserver.co.za journalist visited the scene and reports that the situation has calmed down, and the Police are currently on standby, monitoring the area.

Residents are demanding services.
