Assault case referred for decision
The case of the young boy who was assaulted so badly in 2016 that he ended up in a wheelchair, has been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a decision.
Siphamandla Choma was paralysed in 2016 after he was allegedly assaulted by his principal at Manyano Primary School in Mhluzi.
The young boy died in the Middelburg Provincial Hospital on 19 March 2017.

The SAPS initially opened an inquest docket.

The charge was later changed to assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The principal was later dismissed by the Department of Basic Education.
