N4 closed after truck accident

The lanes on the N4 leading to the east has been cordoned off after two seperate accidents occurred in the early hours of this morning.

A truck carrying a load of wood lost control and came to rest within the marshes around 03:00.

A passing motorist who stopped to look at the accident was then rear ended and the vehicle flipped at around 07:00.
Traffic came to a standstill as a recovery of the vehicles is taking place.

Because of the truck’s location, the lanes will have to be closed for retrieval and N4 TRAC teams are planning a detour to ease traffic.

It is unknown at this point when the road will be open for use again.
