Gun wielding social media delinquent arrested
Three suspects were taken into custody after appearing in the Middelburg Magistrate's court on charges of housebreaking and theft.
Bigboy Sibande, Thulani Dumisa and Tanderayi Sithole were arrested after police received information of a video on social media where Bigboy Sibande was captured in possession of a firearm.
After following up on the lead, the police was led to Sibande’s house where they recovered the firearm and Sibande’s brother and his girlfriend were taken in for questioning. Upon hearing the news, Sibande went to the police station to hand himself over.
A further probe into the matter revealed that Sibande and his accomplices had allegedly broken into a house on a farm in the Loskop area on 15 March 2018.
They reportedly stole the firearm, a home theatre system, other technology, shoes and bags, which have all been recovered.
It futher transpired that Tanderayi was an employee on the farm.
The suspects were remanded in custody and the case was postponed to 25 March, 2019, for bail application.
