Truck set alight during protests at Optimum

Protests have flared up again at Optimum Mine which has resulted in the torching of a coal truck.

The Pullenshope Road was blocked by burning tyres and the blazing truck.

Emergency response personnel are at the scene and the Pullenshope Road is said to be clear for use shortly.

It has been confirmed that the N11 (Hendrina Road) is open for use.
