5 deaths on a tragic Sunday

At least five people died in Middelburg on Sunday, March 31.

Two men lost their lives in a collision at about 06:00 on the corner of Mandela Drive and Samora Machel Street.

In an unrelated incident shortly after 11:00, three people died near the Kranspoort Pass on the N11 in a head-on collision between a Toyota Avanza and a Ford Figo.

According to the Mpumalanga Community Safety and Liaison Department four of the Avanza passengers were seriously injured and two people who were travelling in the Figo also had to be transported to the hospital.

The incident caused a 2 hour delay on the busy road.

I have been working as a journalist/photographer since 2018 at the Middelburg Observer. Before joining Caxton I was a Journalism Student at the Tshwane University of Technology.
