Bring your pet for a rabies vaccination, cheap microchip

Residents are reminded to bring their pets for a free vaccination against rabies from 2 to 6 September.

It is advised that dogs, cats and ferrets be vaccinated on a yearly basis. The State Vetenary services launches a free rabies vaccination week on an annual basis in either September or October.

The schedule for where pets can be taken is as follows:

•2 September: Alzu Depot at the Middelburg Mall from 10:00 – 16:00. (Alzu also has a promotion on the day to get your pet microchipped for just R132.70)

•3 September: Tosca Centre Kanonkop from 10:00 – 15:00.

•3 September: Kanonkop Spar from 10:00 – 15:00.

•4 September: Mineralia OK Grocer from 10:00 – 15:00.

•5 September: Midwater Centre from 10:00 – 15:00.

•5 September: Aerorand Friendly Grocer (near Corpus Christi) from 10:00 – 15:00.

•6 September: State vet office (near the SPCA) from 10:00 – 15:00.
