Serial rapist convicted of 11 charges

In a ground-breaking ruling delivered on Monday at the High Court in Middelburg, justice was finally served in the case of Nkosinathi Mgidi (27), the alleged serial rapist.

The court found him guilty of all 11 charges, shedding light on a chilling reign of terror that plagued the Siyabuswa area from 2012 to 2020.

Mgidi’s disturbing spree began when he was just a minor, leading to his initial arrest in 2012.
He was released under parental supervision, allowing him to continue his heinous acts.

His crimes halted when a courageous victim identified him to the police in 2020.

He was linked to all 11 rape cases through DNA. This breakthrough played a crucial role in securing the conviction and ensuring justice for the victims.

The matter was postponed to June 13 for pre-sentencing.
