Two vehicles burst into flames after a collision on the N11  involving three vehicles last night.

Emergency services rushed to the scene where multiple serious injuries were reported.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.

The accident happened shortly before 21:00 close to Woestalleen Mine.

The accident scene was cleared an hour later, following a short closure of the road.

The Ngodwana route to the Lowveld was also closed shortly after midnight today, after trucks were set alight between Crossroads and Waterval Onder.

Protests are continuing in the area and motorists should rather use the Schoemanskloof route to the Lowveld.

Police are monitoring the situation.
