Leak at Pullenshope reservoir wastes thousands litres of water

Concerned residents are receiving no feedback from the municipality over the reported leak at the Pullenshope reservoir, leading to thousands of litres of water wastage.

According to an anonymous complainant, the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality’s representative for the area remains mum on when the leak will be addressed.

The complainant further pointed out that the reservoir has been leaking since last week, and that judging by the large bodies of water accumulating in the streets, “millions of litres of water is going to waste.”

A photo shared with the Middelburg Observer shows how dropping night-time temperatures have resulted in the dripping water freezing over.

Cold temperatures have resulted in the leaking water turning to ice.
