Suspect on the run in Kanonkop

A suspect is on the run in Kanonkop after being caught stealing solar panels in Kanarie Street.

A domestic worker went to Spar to buy groceries and when she returned at 12:25, she saw a strange man on the roof.

She rushed inside to phone her employer and the house owner, Mr Gideon Steenkamp.
Mid Alarms were then informed and rushed to the scene.

Before Mid Alarms arrived, the suspect nonchalantly climbed down the wall with a solar panel in hand and then climbed over the main gate and fled.

The footprints left by the suspect after he climbed down the wall.

The domestic worker described the man as having dreadlocks and wearing a grey woollen beanie or hat, a light green jacket and a black shirt.

This is the latest in a string of thefts targeting solar panels in the area.

If anyone has any more information, contact Gideon on 082 444 3875.
