Pedestrian struck and killed on N4
A pedestrian succumbed to his injuries on the N4 just over and hour ago after crossing the highway and being struck by a vehicle.
The According to Trac recovery of the vehicle and body is currently still underway and motorists traveling on the N4 must approach the scene with caution.
The accident happened just after 10:00 between the Vandyksdrift and Samora Machel offramps.
Trac says the Eastern-bound slow lane remains closed for recovery purposes.
The driver of the Isuzu bakkie with registration plates registered to Gauteng, is uninjured.
The pedestrian was struck by the left front corner of the bakkie.
The SAPS is currently on the scene, awaiting the arrival of pathology services to assist with the removal of the body.
