A traffic alert is being circulated on social media of a traffic standstill on the R555 (old Witbank road).

According to a motorist, the delays are being caused by protests at one of the mines situated on the road.

Traffic is reportedly standing still from the FM tower slightly after the train bridge.

Motorists are advised to make use of alternative routes.
