Keiskamma, Mandela road-closures underway after truck carrying flammable cargo overturns

Residents must avoid Keiskamma Drive where it crosses with Mandela Drive, after a truck transporting flammable cargo overturned.

Van Wettens are currently on the scene assessing the situation.

An alert was issued minutes ago on WhatsApp safety groups, for residents to avoid the area in case of an explosion.

Mr Louwtjie Swart of Van Wettens says both streets will be closed until the hazardous material has been safely recovered.
It’s unclear how long the road closures will last.

Police and traffic services have been dispatched to assist with the road closures.

Only the parts around the accident scene will be closed for now.

The three occupants of the truck were rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries.
